BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION is a 2017 Indian epic action film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the script with V. Vijayendra Prasad. It was produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under the banner Arka Media Works. Produced in the Telugu film industry,[16] the film was shot in both Telugu and Tamil languages.[17][18] The cast includes Prabhas in a dual role, alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar and Subbaraju. It is both the sequel and the prequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, as well as the final installment in the Baahubali film duology. The film is set in fictional medieval India and centers on the rivalry between siblings Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva. Bhallaladeva conspires against Amarendra, leading to his death at the hands of Kattappa. Years later, Amarendra's son (Mahendra or Sivudu) seeks to avenge his father's demise.[19][20]
M.S. DHONI THE UNTOLD STORY is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama film directed and co-written by Neeraj Pandey. It is based on the life of former Test, ODI and T20I captain of the Indian national cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film stars the late Sushant Singh Rajput as MS Dhoni, along with Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, and Anupam Kher. The film chronicles the life of Dhoni from a young age through a series of life events.The idea of the biopic was put forward by Dhoni's manager, Arun Pandey, after encountering an incident at an airport after the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final. Development began two years later, with the consent of Dhoni. Neeraj Pandey was later approached to helm the film while he was working on Baby. Pandey recruited a number of people for researching into Dhoni's background and his life events. Dhoni eventually became a consultant on the film.
DHRUVA is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film[2] directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind under his banner Geetha Arts. A remake of the Tamil film Thani Oruvan (2015), it follows Dhruva, an IPS officer who wants to arrest Siddharth Abhimanyu, a wealthy scientist, who uses secret medical and illegal practices for profit.[3] It stars Ram Charan in the title role alongside Aravind Swamy (who reprises his role from the original version), Rakul Preet Singh, and Navdeep in pivotal roles.The launch and principal photography of the film took place in February 2016; filming took place in Hyderabad and Jammu and Kashmir. The film features music composed by Hiphop Tamizha, the cinematography was handled by P. S. Vinod and editing was done by Navin Nooli, respectively. The film was released worldwide on 9 December 2016, after multiple postponements. It received positive reviews praising the cast performances (particularly Ram Charan and Arvind Swamy), writing, direction, action sequences and cinematography. A Hindi version of the film was dubbed by Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Arbaaz Khan dubbing for Ram Charan and Arvind Swamy respectively.
GABBAR SINGH is a 2012 Indian Telugu-language masala film directed by Harish Shankar. It is a remake of the 2010 Hindi film Dabangg. The film stars Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's music and Jayanan Vincent was the cinematographer.[5] The plot follows Venkataratnam Naidu, a police officer who, inspired by a film character, adopts the name Gabbar Singh.[a] Posted in a village, he faces off against a local thug aspiring to join politics who manipulates his half-brother. Gabbar Singh embarks on a mission to dismantle the thug's corrupt political ambitions and restore justice.Made on a budget of ₹30 crore,[2] the film was formally launched on 18 August 2011 at Hyderabad with shooting primarily held in Pollachi district. The film grossed around ₹150 crore worldwide, becoming the 2nd highest-grossing Telugu film at the time, emerging as the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year.[3][4]Kalyan's performance was acclaimed for its charisma and energy, blending mass appeal with comedy, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, the SIIMA Award for Best Actor – Telugu, a CineMAA Award, among other accolades. JERSEY is a 2019 Indian Telugu-language sports drama film written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film stars Nani, Shraddha Srinath, and Sathyaraj. The film tells the story of a talented but failed cricketer who decides to return to the sport in his mid-30s after his wife's insistence, to fulfill his son's wish for a jersey. The film's soundtrack and score were composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography was handled by Sanu Varghese and editing was done by Naveen Nooli.The film was released on 19 April 2019 to critical acclaim, with praise for Nani's performance, direction, screenplay, emotional weight, music, and cinematography. It was commercially successful, grossing ₹63 crore (US$8.9 million) worldwide on a budget of ₹15 crore (US$2.1 million), becoming one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of the year. The film won two National Film Awards: Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Editing for Nooli. A Hindi remake starring Shahid Kapoor is scheduled to be released on 22 December 2023.
